Daubjerg Kalkgruber
An excursion to quarries, museums, cheese and bats…North of the Ringkøbing Fjord region, close to Viborg, is Daubjerg Kalkgruber (limestone quarries). Provided only with a candle you make a journey down into Denmark’s oldest limestone mine. The site also consists of a museum with fossils and tools from times when men were working in the mines. The air humidity is very special and therefore suitable for maturing cheese. These special cheese sorts are sold in the store at the site.
