Ringkøbing Museum

Ancient times, Greenland expedition, Iceland and Ringkøbings history – all in one museum.

The old red-brick house in the middle of Ringkøbing has many stories to tell. A whole section is about Mylius Erichsen, the towns own polar explorer, and his expedition in Greenland, where he and other explorers wanted to map out the unknown parts of Greenland. Besides this, you also find archaeological collections and the history of Ringkøbing.

The rarity section is the name of a collection of items which tells the story of the regions culture. Here you can try out a real chastity belt. The museum shop offers everything from sweets and jewellery to toys and books – a cosy little store. Kafé Klokker sells coffee to the visitors of the museum.
