At sea

By the seaside – or by the Fjordside! If water is your element then Ringkøbing Fjord is just for you.  Whether you prefer being in, or out of the water, there’s a lot on offer.  The area is a Mecca for anglers, with the chance of fishing in the North Sea, either from the harbour walls, the beach, or out on a fishing boat.  Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Skjern Å is internationally known as a paradise for anglers with everything for some great fishing days.  There are also numerous ‘put and take’ parks in the area.  Check the Activity Calendar for the annual Herring Fishing Competition and other competitions.  If you would rather get out onto the water take a tour on a fishing boat or a schooner.  The Fjord is a popular destination for windsurfers and there are several approved windsurfing areas around the Fjord.  Canoe rental on Skjern Å is a wonderful opportunity to experience the countryside and its’ wildlife from the water.  If you really want to get wet you can always go for a swim in one of our water parks or indoor swimming pools where the whole family can enjoy themselves whatever the weather.  Have fun!
